Leuenraum

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about the Leuenraum.

Who can rent the room?

The room can be rented by any resident — owner or tenant — of the «Crystal» buildings (Leuengasse 1–18). The person making the booking must be present in person throughout the event. Sub-letting is not permitted.

How do I book the room?

Check availability in the calendar, then head to the booking page and select your desired duration. A committee member will then contact you to confirm the reservation.

How long can I rent the room?

You can rent the room for 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours.

Cleaning after use

After each booking, one additional hour is automatically reserved for cleaning the room.

If no subsequent bookings follow your event, the room must be cleaned by 10 a.m. the following day. A committee member must be available to inspect the room after cleaning.

How much does it cost?

Crystal residents:

  • 1 hour: CHF 10
  • Over 1 hour (up to max. 8 hours): CHF 50 flat rate

Non-residents & external organisations:

  • Flat rate (max. 8 hours): CHF 80
What's included in the rental?

Your rental gives you access to:

  • A cleaned room
  • Plenty of dishes
  • Cooking utensils
  • A children's play area
What are the house rules?
  • No smoking inside — the renter bears the cost of specialist cleaning if this rule is broken.
  • No fireworks in or around the room.
  • Quiet hours from 22:00 — windows and doors must be closed, no loud conversations outdoors. Repeated justified noise complaints will result in a rental ban.
  • The outdoor area is not part of the rental.
What do I need to do when returning the room?
  • Return the room and surroundings tidy and clean.
  • Wash, dry, and put away all dishes.
  • Dispose of waste sorted in official rubbish bags.
  • Turn off lights, shut off water, raise blinds, close all windows and doors.
  • Cleaning supplies, towels, and tablecloths must be brought by the renter.
What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations within 14 days of the event incur a fee of 50% of the rental price. If a substitute renter is found, their fee is credited against yours.

Who is liable for damages?

The renter is liable for damage to the building and furniture, missing items, and any additional cleaning costs. Damages and missing items must be reported to the committee immediately.

Why is there a fee at all?
  1. Because wear, dirt, and breakages create an ongoing need for minor investments.
  2. Because not all Crystal residents will use the room equally often — charging a fee ensures fairness.
  3. Because a fee creates commitment, preventing no-shows after booking.
